A Sinner egy német heavy metal zenekar ,amit 1980-ban az énekes és basszusgitáros Mat Sinner alapított. Elsõ albumuk Wild'n'Evil címmel 1982-ben jelent meg.1987-ben megjelent Dangerous Charm sokkal dallamosabb, hard rockosabb lett ,mint az elõzõ albumaik.Ezt követõen a zenekar szünetet tartott öt évig.1990-ben Mat Sinner kiadott egy szólóalbumot .Ezt követõen No More Alibis címmel 1992-ben jelent meg a visszatérõ album, ami súlyosabb lett minden eddiginél.1996 - ben élõ albumot adtak ki In the Line of Fire címmel.Ezután 2 rendkívül sikeres album következett :Judgement Day 1997-ben, és a The Nature of Evil 1998-ban, amit a Deep Purple zenekarral közös európai turné követett.A banda legsikeresebb albumát a The Nature of Evilt több mint 100.000 példányban adták ell1998-ban a Mat Sinner, és Tom Naumann megalakította a Primal Fear-t.az ex- Gamma Ray énekes Ralf Scheepers-el1999-ben megjelent egy Best of album 3 új dallal. Ezután tagcserék következtek, de a minõségi albumok nem maradtak el.A Mask of Sanity 2007-ben látott napvilágot . Ez az album szült két népszerû kislemezt "Diary of Evil" és a "Black" címmel ", és tartalmazott egy Thin Lizzy dalt "Baby Please Don't Go-t." A mai napig a Sinner kiadott 18 albumot, és eladott több mint egy millió lemezt világszerte.
